Cleaning an entrance mat is simple and requires only a few precautions. Given its high absorbency, however, particular attention should be paid to the drying process to prevent moisture from remaining inside the mat.
For routine cleaning:
- Shake the mat outdoors to remove dust and loose dirt.
- Vacuum both sides of the entrance mat.
- Finish cleaning with a soft-bristled brush to remove any remaining dirt between the fibres.
- Periodically, the entrance mat can be washed by hand or in a washing machine at a temperature no higher than 30–40°C, using a maximum spin speed of 600–800 rpm.
- Dry the mat horizontally, placing it on a clothes airer or drying rack. This step is particularly important to ensure that the material dries properly.
If necessary, you can gently squeeze the mat to remove excess water.
During drying, avoid direct sunlight and only put the entrance mat back in place once it is completely dry.
